This was the result of my Halloween costume this year.
A vampiric interpretation of the Blood Countess herself inspired by the 1970's film "Countess Dracula."
I was going to be Frankenstein's Monster this year, but I didn't want to shave my facial hair to achieve the makeup I wanted because I like the scruffy look I have for playing Long John Silver in a children's touring show I'm in. So I opted to cover all the hair with a foam latex appliance and went with the female vampire idea.
It took four hours to apply the latex pieces and do the makeup. And that's not counting the struggle it is to get into that Elizabethan dress. And I did the costume twice this year! Once for my Halloween party, and then again on Halloween.
I learned valuable lessons from my experience.
Spirit gum + fake blood + facial hair = will not stick to your face.
Theatrical contacts are cool.
I look good in a dress.
Maybe I'll be Frankenstein next year...but I do try and outdo myself each year, and it's getting harder the more elaborate I get. One of these years I'll get to that point that the only way to go is down...and then I'll dissapoint.
Not too worry with chance you'll age and it'll be less a job to outdo yourself (No I don't wish you loose all of your natural beauty. But.. Even still cute you'll understand!)
